The kids are great…

Last Sunday at the Mall (SM), I saw these bunch of VCDs on sale. I was rushing along looking for some good movie. Then I saw In America, the movie I’ve been eager to watch since the day I’ve heard of it. A film by Jim Sheridan about an Irish family wanting to have a bite in the Big Apple as told on the point of view of the elder daughter (there are 2 adorable girls in the movie). Migrating to a new environment, the family tries to live with the society where everyone is trying to survive. The father is an actor trying to find his niche in the industry by trying his hands on every auditions that come his way and the mother works in an ice cream parlor.
Why is it in America, actors have to go through a lot of auditions before they even get recognized while here in the Philippines, as long as you have the looks you can be famous.
The kids (who are real sisters) in the movie are great. Djimon Hounsou’s support added the right flavor to the movie and delivered a good performance as an ill-fated artist who was mean with the other but became good hearted when he met the kids.
I love feel-good movie, just like Lost In Translation. As of now, I’m still looking forward to get my hands on Garden State. Somebody please tell me where?
