Fantastic Four is not FANTASTIC
July 9, 2005 by iamdoods
It was never fantastic. It was a short of campy. It was like
an old movie made for the future audiences.
What’s not working:
- CGI – I’ve
been exposed to different films that use CGI to make their movies
extravagant. There was Starwars and Lord of the Rings but this movie seems
like an 80’s movie. Mr. Gummy Fantastic has the worst CGI of all it’s was
like using a century-old computer imaging. It looks like a cartoon movie. - Jessica
Alba – It’s like watching Katie Holmes on Batman Begins. It just didn’t
fit her or she didn’t have the ability to act the character. Sue Storm is
the supposed to be sympathetic among the chaotic group. - The
Action – The sequences were very amateur. Nothing much compared to Spiderman,
X-Men and Batman Begins. The Incredibles has far better scenes. - The
Plot – Seems like it just have to end. It’s like a season opener of a TV
series. - The Villain - Dr. Doom is just another shit in the movie. And he’s not even frightening. He’s just too lame to be evil.
What works:
- Johnny
Storm – The Human Torch is a cocky childish person and Chris Evans just
showed me the real Johnny. But of course, the humor didn’t bring the film
to its finest. I mean, however good it was, it never made the film better.
Maybe the director was just good at comedies, but not action movies. - Ben
Grimm – The Sheild’s Michael Chiklis is absolutely great. He embodied a
person with angst and sadness deep within his latex costume.
All in all it was not what I had expected, it wasn’t as good as Spidey but not as bad as Catwoman. I can’t even stop
comparing it with “The Incredibles” which might be a cartoon but
was great at everything. By the time I went out of the theater, I was saying, “Was
that it?” Maybe the sequel will be better and I am hoping.
